Microfluidics technologies are providing diagnostic companies novel ways of moving very small volumes of test samples through micro-channels and reservoirs designed into a test cartridge or strip using photolithography and laser ablation. Bioassays therefore can be miniaturized onto small test cartridges or strips allowing the detection and quantification of DNA, RNA, proteins, Bacteria, Viruses, Parasites, blood components and even whole cells.

AniPOC is using microfluidics technology to design point-of-care diagnostics able to quantify biomarkers in blood samples as small as 3μL to 5μL and achieve sensitivities in the range of ng/mL to pg/mL. Results determined using AniPOC’s products will be stored on the portable reader devices with built-in IT connectivity for transfer onto data storage devices.
